David Cook beat out his rival David Archuleta and was announced the winner of 2008 “American Idol” competition last night with a landside 12 Million Votes.
Cook, who was at a loss for words, was congratulated by fellow contestants, David Archuleta, left, Carly Smithson and Michael Johns.
This shocked Simon Cowell who predicted on Tuesday night that David Archuleta had scored a “knockout victory”. Celeb Gossip Kings want to Congratulate Cook on his Win!

Last Night on American Idol David Archuleta sang “ Angels” by Robbie Williams, the song covered by Jessica Simpson, and Celeb Gossip Kings has the latest including the Video.
The song was an enormous hit everywhere else in the world but a relative failure here in the US. Here in the YouTube American Idol video clip David describes the lyrics of “Angels” and its message that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel.
Randy said that it was “David Archuleta’s hottest moment the whole season” Paula said it was “fantastic” Simon said it was “the best song choice of the night”, but thought it was “a bit nasally”, we thought it was Cool - Way To Go David!
