Tim Russert, a powerhouse of broadcast journalism who made interviewing both an art form and a contact sport on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” died yesterday of a heart attack at age 58 after collapsing at the network’s Washington bureau.
Former NBC anchor Tom Brokaw announced the news on the air shortly after 3:30 p.m. Brokaw said Russert had just returned from a trip to Italy with his wife, Maureen Orth, and son, Luke.
The cause of death was not immediately clear. The network said on its Web site that Russert died of a heart attack.
Russert was the author of two best-selling books, “Big Russ & Me” and “Wisdom of Our Fathers,” both written in collaboration with William Novak of Newton.

Da’ Tara shocked the racing world in a major upset today was the winner of the 2008 Belmont Stakes. The Favorite, Big Brown failed to deliver on Triple Crown expectations.
Da’Tara was one the longshots on the board for the Belmont Stakes but it wouldn’t be the first time a Nick Zito trained horse. Da’ Tara, starting from position 6, had little trouble winning the race and was one of the distant contenders with odds 30/1 before the race at the online bookmaker.
Da’Tara, winner of the Breeder’s Cup race last year, took the lead from the start of the race and held it all the way to the end, sitting atop of the Belmont Stakes results board

The ex-girlfriend and 10-year-old son Marquise were rescued from an inflammed Long Island home early Friday. Six people are hospitalized after a “suspicious” fire burned down a multimillion-dollar Long Island home.
Shaniqua Tompkins, told TMZ that she heard “someone” come into the house this morning at 4 AM, shortly before the fire broke out around an hour later.
Shaniqua’s lawyer, tells us that his client is “traumatized” by the fire. 50 Cents Lawyer “Denies” that his client had anything to do with it.
Fire Chief Larry Feld says that the Arson Squad is on the scene of the blaze, characterizing the fire as “highly suspicious.”

In other legal news, Celeb Gossip Kings has uncovered a twisted tale of corruption and decipt in the Trump Camp. Comb-Over King Donald Trump will sell an Atlantic City casino to one-time employee Richard Fields for $316 million in an agreement announced Thursday that will also end a bitter Broward County lawsuit stemming from the development of the Seminole Hard Rock Casinos.
Feilds had apparently took inside information he had acquired while working for “The Donald”, to close a Casino Deal with the unsuspecting Seminole Indians, after Trump Fired Him giving the impression that Trump was still in the deal.
Trump Sued Fields four years ago contending that Fields Cheated Him out of a deal with the Seminole Tribe to develop the Hard Rock casinos near Hollywood and Tampa.
So Trump got back at him in the end by Dumping a Money Losing Casino for way more than it was worth. That’s Just Business!
Feilds actually made out pretty good in the deal considering, and turned out to be one heck of an Apprentice!

More legal troubles for the Grammy-nominated rapper 50 Cent who is being sued by a former girlfriend Shaniqua Tompkins. She says the hip-hop superstar is trying to evict her and their 10-year-old son Marquise from their multi-million-dollar home and put them On The Streets!
The 32-year-old rapper, whose real name is Curtis Jackson is reportedly pissed off that Shaniqua has a new man up in his house.
The lawsuit was filed Wednesday in New York State Supreme Court in Manhattan. It asks the court to declare that she has a right to live in the house. She already gets court-ordered financial support from 50 Cent for their son.

The Web site reads like the writing on the wall in a campus bathroom. Its motto is “Always Anonymous … Always Juicy.” And many students around the country are urging its leaders to take down the comments that have been scrawled there for all the world to see.
The site is called JuicyCampus, which opened this summer has topics such as “Who is the sluttiest girl????,” “Hottest Cornell Sophomores,” and “Biggest Cornell Cokeheads?” Anonymous users of the site have posted their picks in each category and in many other, similar topics, and many of the students who are named on the site are not amuse.
Threat On Juicy Campus.Com Lands Student In Jail
A student at Colgate University has been arrested and charged this week with aggravated harassment after he made a post on Juicy Campus, a site that serves as a public forum for students to anonymously gossip about others. The police involved in the arrest admit that the post appeared to be a prank, but say that they “have to take that as seriously as possible.”

”Juicy Campus” is under investigation by authorities in New Jersey. the site that allows anonymous posters and it is under fire from critics that claim the posts go way too far and are often over the top. The state’s the Attorney General’s Office said it will look into whether the website is violating consumer fraud laws in the state.
When asked for their comments the owners of the site were rumored to have said “Oobie Doobie Goobie”
