Dr. Dre’s 20-year-old son Andre Young Jr is Dead

Rapper “Dr. Dre is mourning the loss of his son Andre Young Jr.,” publicist Lori Earl said in a statement. Young Jr., who was named after his father, was found dead Saturday by his mother at their home in suburban Woodland Hills, county coroner’s Lt. John Kades said.

An autopsy was performed Monday, but the cause of death wasn’t likely to be determined for eight weeks while toxicology tests are done, Kades said.

Grammy Award, Academy Award winning Singer, Musician Songwriter, Actor Isaac Hayes died at his home in Shelby County, Tennessee at age 56.

His album “Hot Buttered Soul” made Hayes a star in 1969. His shaved head, gold chains and sunglasses gave him a compelling visual image. “Hot Buttered Soul” was groundbreaking in several ways: He sang in a new “cool” style, and he started the song with “Raps”.

He was best known for his hit, the theme song for the 1971 movie “Shaft” which launched Hayes into International Star status.

A pioneer into new musical forms, Hayes In the early 1970s work laid the groundwork for disco, and artists like Barry White for what became known as urban-contemporary music and for Rap (he was rapping before there was rap).

Hayes was a talented songwriter. He was part of a songwriting partnership with David Porter, in the 1960s they wrote classic hits for Sam and Dave such as “Hold On, I’m Coming,” “Soul Man,” (That was also a hit for John Belushi and Dan Ackroyd as the “Blues Brothers“) and “When Something is Wrong With My Baby.” They also wrote for other Stax artists including Carla Thomas. Hayes was elected to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2002

Hayes was also a talented actor. He had roles in movies including “Tough Guys,” “I’m Gonna Get You Sucka” and “Hustle & Flow.” He had recently completed the movie “Soul Men,” in which he played himself; the film also starred Samuel L. Jackson and Bernie Mac, who died on Saturday .

The tour bus for rapper Snoop Dogg was pulled over and two people were arrested on marijuana possession charges Thursday a few hours before a concert in Dallas, a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety said.

Man They Got My Shit!

The bus had an expired registration sticker. Troopers searched the bus for drugs after they said they smelled marijuana, and got off with two ounces killer weed, and disappeared. The Troopers were found a couple hours later outside the Dunkin Doughnuts!

The music publishing company that owns the rights to the song “Play With Fire” by Rolling Stones has filed a copyright infringement/unfair competition Lawsuit against Bad Boy Rapper  (Dwayne Michael Carter). The suit claims the sample used in his “Playing With Fire” cut from Tha Carter III is a clear derivative of the Stones track.

Jagger Theatens To Kick Some Ass!

The court papers use examples like the line “But you can’t blame me if I set this stage on fire” which is a total Rip of Mick Jagger’s famous “But don’t play with me, ’cause you’re playing with fire” lyrics.

The suit also alleges that Lil Wayne uses “explicit, sexist and offensive language” that has not be approved by the band [Stones].

Wayne’s engineer, Fabian Marasciullo, explained how they knew it up front. “There wasn’t no way [the sample] was gonna get cleared and everyone was tripping about it”. But They Used It Anyway…

The rapper’s lawyer, Peter D. Raymond, said his client is seeking $4 million in damages.

Atlanta Bad Boy Rapper “Lil Scrappy”, (Darryl Richardson), was injured Friday night in a stabbing in DeKalb County.

Scrappy got the call from his sister who was in a fight with her boyfriend. He went over to Kick Some Ass and got himself Stabbed Up. When the cops showed up Scrappy forgot he had Weed in his pocket. He was arrested for felony Weed and Weapons possession. He was also charged with a misdemeanor obstruction of police officers and battery.

Rapper NAS untitled Def Jam release — originally set to be called “Nigger” — debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and sold 113,000 copies during its first three days of sales as he leads the Nielsen SoundScan Friday Building chart.

NAS interim total is a tad behind the 116,000 that another rapper, Rick Ross, rang on “Trilla” on the Friday Building chart in March, on the album’s way to a chart-topping total of 198,000.

NAS last No. 1 album, “Hip-Hop Is Dead” dropped in late December 2006, selling 354,000 copies during Christmas week.

Rapper Lil Wayne currently leads the chart with “Tha Carter III” which sold 125,000 copies during the week ended July 13.
