Da’ Tara shocked the racing world in a major upset today was the winner of the 2008 Belmont Stakes. The Favorite, Big Brown failed to deliver on Triple Crown expectations.
Da’Tara was one the longshots on the board for the Belmont Stakes but it wouldn’t be the first time a Nick Zito trained horse. Da’ Tara, starting from position 6, had little trouble winning the race and was one of the distant contenders with odds 30/1 before the race at the online bookmaker.
Da’Tara, winner of the Breeder’s Cup race last year, took the lead from the start of the race and held it all the way to the end, sitting atop of the Belmont Stakes results board
NEW YORK (AP) -A day after the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays tangled, Major League Baseball struck back: Eight suspensions totaling 38 games. Ouch!
James Shields – Coco Crisp
Three Red Sox were suspended: Crisp for seven games, pitcher Jon Lester for five games and first baseman Sean Casey for three games.
Five Rays were penalized by MLB disciplinarian Bob Watson: Shields for six games, DH-outfielder Jonny Gomes and pitcher Edwin Jackson for five games each, outfielder Carl Crawford for four games and second baseman Akinori Iwamura for three games. All eight players also were fined undisclosed amounts! (Double Ouch!)
Nothing like a good old fashion Bench Clearing Brawl. This“Kick Ass”Red Sox Fight last nightwas caught on video. Almost thought I was watching Hockey for a minute!
Here you’ll see Boston Red Sox’s Coco Crisp was hit on the right hip by Tampa Bay Rays pitcher James Shields during the second inning of a baseball game.
Coco charged the mound, dodged a punch from Shields and landed a few of his own before being tackled to the ground by Tampa BayDevil Rays catcher Dioner Navarro. A bench-clearing brawl between the Rays and the Red Sox ensued. Now That Cool!
Well folks, Jose Canseco has finally found someone to step up to the challenge of a Celebrity Boxing match! His name is Vai Sikehema, a former running back and kick returner for the Philadelphia Eagles. The fight will take place at Bernie Robbins Stadium in Atlantic City on July 12th.
Canseco, whose hobbies include pumping steroids, beating dogs, and lying under oath, is a self proclaimed black belt in Muay Thai, Kung Fu, and Taekwondo. Obviously, he does not have a black belt in keeping it real. His advantage in this fight comes in the form of his size, 6’4”, 250 lbs. His opponent is only 5’9”, 190 lbs.
Vai Sikehema
Sikahema, in addition to playing in the NFL from 1986 – 1993, also competed in the National Gold Gloves boxing competition as a youngster. That year, the competition was won by none other than Sugar Ray Leonard.
My prediction: After being beaten to a bloody pulp, Canseco will cry like a baby during the post fight interview and claim that he once bought steroids from Babe Ruth.
David Beckham who made the OK Magazine Top 10 “Man Candy” list was seen showing off his Manly Package at a recent soccer match where Beckham scored an impressive goal for his team Galaxy against against the Kansas City Wizards.

Danica Patrick became the first female winner in IndyCar history on Sunday, taking the Indy Japan 300 after the top contenders were forced to pit for fuel in the final laps.

“It’s a long time coming. Finally,” Patrick said. “It was a fuel strategy race, but my team called it perfectly for me. I knew I was on the same strategy as Helio, and when I passed him for the lead, I couldn’t believe it. This is fabulous.”
The 26-year-old Patrick won in her 50th career IndyCar start, taking the lead from Castroneves on the 198th lap in the 200-lap race.
