Olympic swimming gold medalist Amanda Beard gets naked to promote her anti-fur campaign poster outside the Athletes’ Village on Wednesday after Chinese authorities canceled a planned unveiling, citing safety concerns.

In a poster for the animal rights group PETA, the reigning 200-meter breaststroke champion appears naked in front of the U.S. flag and the slogan “Be comfortable in your own skin. Don’t wear fur.”

Us Olympic Swimmer, 23 year old Michael Phelps swam into history with an incredible finish Saturday, tying the record set by Mark Spitz with his seventh gold medal by the narrowest of margins in the 100-meter butterfly.

He got his hands on the wall a hundredth of a second ahead of Cavic – a finish so close the Serbians filed a protest and swimming’s governing body had to review the tape down to the 10-thousandth of a second.

“I had no idea,” Phelps said. “I was starting to hurt a little bit with probably the last 10 meters. That was my last individual race, so I was just trying to finish as strong as I could.”

Phelps stole the race from his rival Cavic by a last second overhand stroke that slammed into the wall. Calvic’s people screamed and hollered, and protested. But Phelps went after it and won bv any means necessary.

That kind of stuff could really draw a lot more people to swimming and then, maybe, they’ll continue watching year-round instead of every four years for the Olympics”.
